History:

Spanish professor. He was the son of Manuel Domingo Balmaseda and Joaquina Braulia Rodrigo y Río. In 1818 he received the habit of Priest at the Sacred Covent from Calatrava Order in the city of Almagro.

He started his academic training studying the Baccalaureate on Canons at the University of Salamanca. In addition he was awarded a degree and a doctorate by the Faculty of Canons at the University of Salamanca.

During his academic career he outstood for being a professor in Sacred Canons at the Colegio Imperial in Calatrava. He kept governing the chairs of General Discipline of the Church and Specific from Spain and the chair of General Discipline of the Church and Canonical Collection at the University of Salamanca. Furthermore, he substituted the chair available in Canonical Institutions. He was also the dean of the Faculty of Jurisprudence.

He held other positions:

Rector of the College assembled by the Orders of Calatrava and Alcántara of Salamanca.

Lawyer at the Supreme Court.

Chair at the Finance Board.

General metropolitan vicar judge at the cathedral of Salamanca.
