History:

Spanish criminal lawyer and professor. He was the son of Alejandro de Benito Álvarez (Coronel of Infantry) and María del Socorro de la Llave. He started his academic training with the baccalaureate at the High School of Zaragoza and his doctorate was issued by the Universidad Central in Madrid.

He started his academic career being an assistant professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Zaragoza. He became professor of Criminal Law at the University of Santiago in 1905. Then, he was transferred to the University of Oviedo where he created the Laboratory and Museum of Criminology, annexed to his chair, and he gave materials to the new institution.

In 1921 he got the Chair at the University of Valencia.

He held other positions:

Chair in the Board of School Colonies in the district of Oviedo, chair of the agricultural bank and chair of the Parole Commission Decision.
