History:

Spanish minister and Natural Law professor. He was the son of Pablo Callejo Sanz and Elisa de la Cuesta y Tobar.

He started his academic training in 1891 getting the baccalaureate at the high school of Cáceres. He continued with his training studying Law at the universities of Madrid and Valladolid. He was awarded a doctorate at the Universidad Central in Madrid.

His academic career is centred at the University of Valladolid and it started in 1899 when he was appointed assistant at the Faculty of Law. In 1912 he was designated professor of Natural Law and later on of Philosophy of Law at the University of Valladolid.

He held the following positions too:

Founder member of the Association Francisco de Vitoria.

Clerk in the Regional Court of Seville as well as in the Government Secretary in the Regional Court of Valladolid.

Lawyer at the Bar Association of Valladolid.

Minister of Education and Fine Arts during the Spanish dictatorship of Primo de Rivera.

Member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.

Counsellor of the State and president of the Council of State during Franco regime. He held this position until the day he died.
