Spanish law professor. He was the son of Manuel María García de Campos and Juliana Oviedo y Villar. He got married to Concepción Munilla de la Calzada.

He started his academic training in 1833 with the baccalaureate on philosophy. One year later, he studied modules of history and law at the University of Seville and he was awarded both a degree on laws and canons and a doctorate on Philosophy and Literature.

His academic career was centred at the University of Seville where he started as a supply professor in 1840 and then he owned the chair of Political Economy. Afterwards, he was appointed a substitute professor of Jurisprudence and a supply professor of Political and Administrative Law and Political Economy. In 1846 he was designated professor of Political Economy. After the application of the Moyano Act, he was appointed professor of Political and Administrative Law. Moreover, he was dean at the Faculty of Law.

He also carried out the following activities:

Founder member and president of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence of Seville.

Member of the Economic Society of Seville.

Scholar lecturer of Legislation and Jurisprudence in Madrid.


Justice of the Peace in the city of Seville.

Director of the El Jurisconsulto (a newspaper on legislation and jurisprudente).
