History:

Spanish professor of International Law. He was the son of Perfecto Castro Canosa and Manuela Rial Muzo.

He started his academic training studying the baccalaureate at the National Senior High School of Santiago. He, then, studied his degree at the Universities of Santiago and Madrid although he was awarded both a degree and a doctorate at the University of Madrid. He got his second doctorate at the University of Montreal.

His academic career started in 1935 when he was appointed assistant professor. He was professor of Public and Private International Law at the Universidad La Laguna and then he moved to the University of Valladolid and Salamanca. He was manager of the chair of International Law from the Faculty of Political Sciences and Economics at the University of Madrid. He jointed as an emeritus professor of he Carlos III University of Madrid. In addition, he was dean of the University of Valladolid.

He was sanctioned in 1936 and readmitted in 1940.

He held the following positions too:

During the Spanish Civil War, he was Infantry Lieutenant in the brigades of Navarra and he participated in the operation in Santander, Asturias and Teruel.

Diplomatic in Canada as a secretary of the General Consulate as well as in Bonn as a secretary of the Embassy.

Responsible of the International Law Centre of the Ministries from Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador in Denmark and Austria.
