Spanish professor and aristocrat. He was the son of the baron of Sabasona, José Urbina y Mayorga and María del Carmen Urbina y Daoiz. He was the brother of the soldier Manuel Díez de Tejada Urbina.
He started his academic training studying the baccalaureate and the degree on Philosophy at the Universidad Central in Madrid. He also studied the baccalaureate and the degree on Jurisprudence at the University of Seville. He went back to the Universidad Central to study Theology and he was awarded a doctorate on Jurisprudence and Philosophy in this university.
He started his academic career by being in charge of several chairs at the University of Seville and he was appointed supernumerary professor. He got the chair of Elements of Commercial Law at the University of Santiago and he was transferred to the chair of Political Law and Political Economy at the University of Seville.
