History:

Spanish professor of Law and notary. Well-known writer of works and articles related with the Notary and its teaching. Key figure for the modernization of the Catalan Civil Law. He was born and passed away in Barcelona. Son of Félix Falguera y Catalá.

He began his academic education at the Council Seminary of Barcelona. He obtained his notary formation from the Real Colegio de Número of Barcelona. Later he studied Law at the University of Barcelona, graduating from high school and the degree in Civil Law, in addition, he received the doctorate in Jurisprudence.

His academic career began by being appointed professor of notary teaching by the Colegio de Escribanos Públicos Reales y Notarios of the Court of Barcelona. Soon after, he was appointed professor of Civil Law.

At the University of Barcelona, he began being appointed permanent professor of the Faculty of Law. He was also appointed permanent professor of Theory and Practice of Writing of Public Instruments and Judicial Proceedings, to finally acquire the chair of Civil Procedural, Criminal, Canon and Administrative Law and Theory and Practice of Writing of Public Instruments.

Other activities he carried out were:

Main war notary of the Army and Principality of Catalonia; and of the Sub delegation of the corps of the Royal Guard in Catalonia.

Public prosecutor and substitute of the Court of the General Captaincy of Catalonia.

Dean of the Board of directors of the Chamber of Notaries of the territory of the Court of Barcelona.

Member of several societies and academies such as: Academy of Humanities, Sciences and Arts of Valdarno (Montevarchi, Italy); Archaeological Society of Barcelona; Royal Academy of Letters of Barcelona; Academy of Notaries of Madrid.
