He was a Spanish politician and professor of Law. Son of Nicolás del Paso y Sánchez and María de las Angustias Delgado, he married Juana Artacho y Cambreros, with whom he had a daughter. He completed his basic studies at the Real Colegio de Humanidades de la Purísima Concepción de Granada and graduated on the 20th of June, 1840, obtaining the doctorate in June, 1840. He studied the baccalaureate in Philosophy at the Universidad de Granada and obtained the bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1843, graduating in this discipline in 1845.
Professor of History and Elements of Universal and Particular of Spain Canon Law of the Universidad de Granada in 1853. He was appointed vice dean of the Faculty of Law in 1873 and rector of the Universidad de Granada in 1875. He was professor of Legal Proceedings and Forensic Practice of the said university in 1879. He was appointed professor of History and Discipline of the Church of the Universidad Central de Madrid 1891. Dean of the Faculty of Law of the said university, he retired in 1893.

Lawyer of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Granada since 1840. Temporary fiscal of the War Court of the General Captaincy of Granada. Second lieutenant of mayor of the City Council of Granada in 1853. Parliamentary deputy by the district of Alhama in 1860. Senator by the Universidad de Granada in the legislations of 1879, 1881, 1882, 1884, 1885 and 1886. Appointed Councilor of State in 1888. He was member of several scientific, literary and artistic corporations.
