Spanish professor, he was born in Santoña (Santander) and passed away in La Laguna. Son of Juan González Costales and Prudencia Vicén Arlesa, he was married with Ruth Dörner.
He began his academic training with the high school at the Senior High School of Burgos. He studied Law at the Universities of Salamanca and Valladolid. He obtained the degree in the latter. He enjoyed a scholarship from the University of Valladolid to study in Italy and in England. He also lived in Germany, where he widened his knowledge about Philosophy of Law. He obtained the doctorate in Law at the Central University of Madrid. He enjoyed another scholarship from the "Junta para Ampliación de Estudios" in Frankfurt and Berlin.
His academic career began with him as an assistant professor at the University of Valladolid. He obtained the chair of Philosophy of Law at the University of Seville (he took office in Valladolid). He was assigned to the chair of Natural Law and Philosophy of Law at the University of La Laguna (he took office in Madrid). Moreover, he was appointed Dean, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and Rector of the University.
He was sanctioned in 1936 and dismissed by definite separation in 1937. He went back to Spain in 1946 and was removed without sanction.

Member of the Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts- und Sozialphilosophie and of the Philosophische Gesellschaft of Leipzig.
