He was a recognized Spanish professor who was born in Vigo and passed away in Fuenterrabía. He was called Jaime, Jacinto and Francisco del Corazón de Jesús. Son of Gonzalo Guasp González and of Carmen Delgado Iribarren, he got married with Estrella Maldonado y Fernández del Torco, sister of the professor of History of the Church and Canon Law José Maldonado y Fernández del Torco.
He began his academic training with the high school in the Colegio de Areneros of Madrid. He studied the degree in Law at the University of Madrid and enjoyed a scholarship from the University to assist to the chair Francisco de Vitoria of the University of Salamanca. He lived at the Student Housing linked to the Institución Libre de Enseñanza (Free Educational Institute). He did his doctorate in Law in Madrid. He moved to England to continue studying about the legal reforms.
His academic career began with him as a collaborator in the chair of Procedural Law of the University of Madrid. He was also professor of the CEU (Centre of University Studies), created by the Asociación Católica Nacional de Propagandistas (National Catholic Association of Propagandists). He received the chair of Procedural Law from the University of Barcelona and he was appointed professor of the same chair at the University of Madrid. Moreover, he assumed the deanship of the Faculty of Law in Madrid.
He was dismissed without sanction in 1936.

Spokesman of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation; and of the Spanish Institute of Procedural Law.

He was part of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Procedural Law.
