He was a Spanish deputy, senator and professor who was born in Burgos and passed away in Madrid. Son of Julián Gutiérrez and Ángela Fernández.
He began his academic training at the Conciliar Seminary of Burgos. He studied Jurisprudence and Natural Law. His studies were interrupted when he joined the army of Infantry of the Queen’s Regiment. After this period he obtained the degree and the doctorate.
His academic career was centered on the Central University of Madrid and stands out because he was substitute first and later professor of Widening of Civil, Trade and Criminal Law. Moreover, he obtained the chair of Elements of Trade and Criminal Law; Widening of Roman and Spanish Civil Law; and Widening of Civil Law and Spanish Codes.
