History:

Spanish professor who was born in Zaragoza and passed away in Madrid. Son of Inocencio Jiménez Millán and Manuela Vicente Lucientes, he got married with Juana Salas. His son José Antonio Jiménez Salas was professor of Geotechnics. He began his academic training studying the high school at the High School of Zaragoza. He obtained the degree in Law at the University of Zaragoza and the doctorate at the Central University of Madrid. He enjoyed a scholarship from the Ministry of Public Instruction and Fine Arts to go to Paris, and from the Junta para la Ampliación de Estudios in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

His academic career began with him being appointed assistant professor at the University of Zaragoza, where he received the chair of Penal Law. During the Civil War he moved to the University of Valencia as professor. When the conflict was over he took office of the chair of Penal Law and Criminal Anthropology of the Central University of Madrid.

He was dismissed and reinstated in 1938.

Other activities he carried out were:

Member of the Plenary Meeting of the Junta para la Ampliación de Estudios.

Managing director of the Social Security Fund of Aragon and of the Consejo del Instituto Nacional de Previsión.

Vice president of the Instituto Nacional de Previsión and of the Juvenile Court of Zaragoza.

Member of the Sociedad General de Prisiones, Consejo Superior de Menores, Instituto Internacional de Sociología, Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Políticas y de la Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid.

He collaborated in the writing of the Penal Code 1928 and in the preparation of the project of the Ley de Reforma Universitaria, of 1943.

He participated in the founding of the newspaper El Noticiero and took part in others, such as Paz Social.
