He was a Spanish professor of Law, born in Valladolid. He was son of Manuel López Gómez, professor and dean of the Colegio de Abogados de Valladolid, and of María del Carmen Rodríguez Castro. He passed away in Valladolid.

He studied high school at the Instituto Provincial de Valladolid and graduated in Law in the Universidad de Valladolid on the 5th of July, 1880, obtaining the doctorate in the Universidad Central in 1881.

Professor of Public and Private International Law at the Universidad de Valladolid in 1899.

Other positions he held were:

Vice president of the Centro del Partido Liberal Conservador de Valladolid.
