Legajo 28. 1794, [1795]. Correspondencia dirigida al Barón de Carondelet por sus subordinados. B, 28 cm., 500 letters. The letters cover the months of jan. to may, 1794, with a very few documents for 1795. The months of 1794 come in order, with correspondence of each disorganized. The legajo is composed of the letters directed to Governor Barón de Carondelet by his subordinates, Manuel Andry, Alemanes; Elías Beauregard, Nogales; Luis Deblanc, Natchitoches; Ignacio Delinó, San Esteban de Arkansas; Nicolas de Verbois, Iberville; Marcos de Villiers, Galveztown; Manuel García, Placaminas; Manuel Gayoso de Lemos, Natchez; Manuel Lanzós, Mobila; Juan Bautista Mentzinger, Baliza; Tomás Portell, Nuevo Madrid; Francisco Rivas, Manchak; Zenón Trudeau, San Luis; José Vázquez Vahamonde, Baton Rouge; and Enrique White, Panzacola. There are a few drafts of Carondelet to de Verbois and White. Most of the series are numbered. The major part of the legajo consists of letters of Lanzós, Portell, and White. Important subjects: Lists of goods for indian presents; lists of indians presenting themselves at various posts to receive presents (apr.) ; cargoes of furs shipped from Mobila to Panzacola for Panton, Leslie and company; and reports on artillery at Panzacola.
