Legajo 35. 1797-1798. Correspondencia dirigida por sus subordinados al Barón de Carondelet. B, 39.5 cm., 1000 letters. The greater part of the legajo is of the first nine months of 1797, of which june and july have the most letters. The letters of 1798 are of april and may. The legajo is badly in disorder. The legajo consists of:

Subjects treated: Demolition of forts (mar., 1797) ; reports on the forts and hospitals with lists of necessary supplies; relations with the United States; entrance and departure of vessels from the mouth of the Mississippi (jan., mar., apr., june, 1797) ; petitions of settlers around Avoyelles for grants of land; commissioner Ellicott and the insurrection at Natchez (june, 1797); reports on forces in the posts, with notice of arms and ammunition on hand; and visit of the french general Collot to Luisiana
