Legajo 112. 1776-1779. Correspondencia al Gobernador de la Luisiana. B, 27 cm., 500 letters. The letters cover the years indicated, about one-half being of 1779. The legajo is in disorder. The greater part is of letters to Unzaga and Gálvez. The legajo consists of the following series of correspondence:
(a) To Luis de Unzaga from Tomás Acosta, Manchak; Peter Chester, Panzacola; Jacobo Dubreuil, Baliza; Atanasio de Mézières, Natchitoches; and Ventura Orueta, Baliza. (b) Luis de Unzaga to Mézières, Orueta, and Carlos de Grand Pré. (c) To Bernardo de Gálvez from Peter Chester, Panzacola; Francisco Bonet de Arsein, Baliza; Luis Dessalles, Manchak; Raymundo Dubreuil, Manchak; Gerónimo Girón, bergantin Caulicán; Manuel González, Nueva Orleans; Atanasio de Mézières, Natchitoches; Robert Morris and W. Items of interest: 1750, two copies of the real cedula declaring english and dutch fugitive negro slaves free, when accepting the catholic faith (sept. 24) ; 1776, monthly lists of arrivals and departures of vessels at the port of Nueva Orleans; 1777, plan and description of Fort Manchak; insult committed in the Mississippi river to the bergantin correo (post boat) Principe de Asturias by an english vessel; 1779, instructions to the comandant of San Juan del Bayu; relations with the english at Manchak; neutrality; commission of Jacinto Panis to Mobila and Panzacola, with notices of these places; certificates of oaths of allegiance (juramentos de fidelidad) of french residents of Nueva Orleans; junta de guerra del 13 de Julio at Nueva Orleans; vessels entering the Mississippi (oct., dec.) ; and croquis de Manchak ( sketch of the place).
