The letters cover the entire year and are in carpetas for each month, those of each correspondent being together in chronological order. The legajo consists of the correspondence of the captain general of Cuba and the governor of Luisiana, as follows:

Subjects treated by Someruelos: Designs of the english against Luisiana; relations with the Talapuches; capture of the sloop Hawk (Gavilán); operations against Bowles; recapture of San Marcos de Apalache. Many of the letters of Someruelos are transcriptions of royal orders regarding military affairs and acknowledgments of receipt of correspondence. By Casa Calvo: Expedition against Bowles; declarations of prisoners taken; capture of the sloop Hawk; relations of the english and the Talapuches; designs of the english against Luisiana; capture of Apalache by Bowles and the expedition for its recapture; Panton and company; and measures against Philip Nolan.
