Comisión de D. Francisco Rendón en Filadelfia. Cover the period from june 12, 1781, to oct. 10, 1782. The legajo contains the letters of Francisco Rendón, Spanish Agent in Filadelfia, to Juan Manuel Cagigal, captain general of Cuba. The letters are in order and numbered in the captaincy general from 1 to 77, some bearing original numbers in various series. There are also the drafts of the replies of Cagigal, which are usually nothing more than an acknowledgment of the receipt of correspondence. The correspondence gives a very detailed account of the progress of the war between England and her colonies, including translations of letters, reports, documents, and gazettes.
