In the correspondence of the director de ingenieros there are a few letters referring to Florida and a carpeta dealing with the appointment of an official at San Agustín. The most important material for the United States is that relative to the commissions given to Arango and Pintado. Arango went to San Agustín in 1812-1813 to make an inspection; there are some letters referring to this. Pintado was in Panzacola in 1815, to investigate regarding the settlement of the english on the Apalachicola, and those of the americans on the Chattahoochee and the Flint rivers
