Oficios del gobernador de Florida al ministro de la Guerra.
Legajo 1750. 1799-1812. Oficios del ministerio de la Guerra, correspondientes a las Floridas. (Someruelos 216; Capitanes Generales 702.) B, 27.5 cm., 1042 documents. The letters cover the period from may, 1799, to apr. 6, 1812. They are all arranged in order. The first nineteen letters are badly damaged by water. The legajo consists of the drafts of Marqués de Someruelos, as captain general of Luisiana and the Floridas, to the ministers of war, nos. 1-76, 78-118, 120-526, 528-679, 700-908, 910-1063 (cf. legajo 158-1). Subjects treated: 1799, situado of Florida; death of Gayoso de Lemos; repairs on the fort at Panzacola; 1800, projected expedition from the United States against Luisiana; 1801, difficulties of the governor and intendant of Luisiana; 1802, trial of officials for the surrender of San Marcos de Apalache; Bowles; 1803, union of the civil and military command in Luisiana during ad interim government; 1804, fortification of Panzacola; pretensions of the United States to Florida Occidental; insurrection at Baton Rouge; need of funds in Florida Occidental; 1805, trial of officials for the surrender of Apalache; refusal of Folch to allow Juan Ventura Morales to remove to Panzacola; 1806, difficulties of Folch and Morales; attitude of the United States to Florida Occidental; 1807, situado of San Agustín and Panzacola; 1808, difficulties of Folch and Morales; 1810, insurrection at Baton Rouge; 1811, deserters from the american army in Florida; 1812, defense of Isla Amalia. The bulk of the letters acknowledge the receipt of royal orders regarding military matters, and transmit petitions and military reports. Listed
