History:
Led by the Workers' Revolutionary Organization, a Maoist political party, it was founded in 1977 and the Constituent Congress was held on 1 May. There reportedly exist registers signed by the Trade Union prior to the aforementioned date; for instance, there are records of political leaflets signed by the Trade Union in Alicante in 1976. The II Congress hosted by Cristino Doménech was held in Madrid on 25 May of the subsequent year. Nowadays, there are organizations only in Almeria, Barcelona, Cantabria, Huelva, Madrid and Malaga. This Trade Union was constituted under the Confederation of Workers' Unitarian Trade Unions and linked to the Communist Party of Spain.
