History:

Alper, Marcus Mordecai was born on the 8th of November 1910 in Newark, New Jersey. He graduated in the Brookline High School, after that he attended to the Brown University. His only civil work was salesman.

He sailed from the United States the 10th of February 1937 aboard the "Washington" and arrived in Spain the 19th February 1937. He fought and worked in several parts of Spain and with different tasks: he served with the 86th International Brigade from March to July 1937, in the Officer Training School in August 1937, in transport from September until October of 1937, with the scouts of the 15th International Brigade from October until November 1937, in Albacete in the Estado Mayor from December 1937 until September 1938, at the Front of Córdoba, in Fuentes de Ebro and in the General Staff of the 15th International Brigade at the end of September.

He returned to the United States on the 15th of December 1938 aboard the "Paris" .Then he served in the Second World War in the Army Air Force of the United States as an instructor in the Gunnery School of Tyndall Field in Florida and as a Tailgunner with the 8th Air Force in 35 missions over Germany with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He died on the 26th of May 2000 in Brookline, Massachusetts.
