History:

Stanley Junas was born on May 24, 1916 in Paterson, New Jersey. He worked as mechanic in Fur Trade and was a member of the Communist Party of the United States of America since January 1, 1936. He arrived in Spain on January 14, 1938 and returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the “Ausonia”. In Second World War, he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1974, for being a longtime resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, he received the Michigan State´s American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) award as Civil Libertarian of the Year.

Junas died on June 9, 1995 in Oakland, California.
