History:

Jacob Albert Kramer was born in 1912. He was single and worked as driver. Since 1936, he was a member of the Young Communist League (YCL).

He sailed on June 19, 1937, aboard the “Berengaria” and arrived in Spain on July 9, 1937. He served in the Communications Unit of the 15th International Brigade as driver. He returned to the US on July 20, 1938 aboard the “Champlain”. During the Second World War, he served with the Armed forces of US as a Merchant Marine. In 1972, he joined the Gray Panthers, an Elder rights activist organization which started protesting in changing the mandatory retirement age and seeking an end to the Vietnam War.

Kramer died in 1992.
