Romer, Edna Drabkin was born on the 10th of February 1913 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a Jewish member of the American Medical Bureau and the Socialist Party. She trained at the Metropolitan Hospital of New York. She worked as Nurse. She arrived in Spain on the 18th of July 1937. She served with the Medical Services in Villa Paz Hospital (Saelices, Cuenca) and later with the Auto-chir on the Aragon Front. She returned to the United States on the 26th of September 1938 aboard the "Normandie".
