History:

Peck, Samuel was born on the 13th of August 1900 in Kishinev, Russia (now the capital of the Republic of Moldova). He became naturalized citizen in 1920 as Russian American. He attended to the technical school prior to military service from 1917 to 1918. He worked as mechanic and furrier. He joined the Communist Party of Romania in 1919 and the Communist Party of the United States in 1933 as education director. He sailed from the United States on the 6th of January 1937 aboard the "Paris" and arrived in Spain on the 25th of January 1937. He served with the 15th International Brigade in Las Planas, later with the Quartermaster Corps of the hospitals. He served at Jarama and Brunete. He returned to the United States on the 28th of August 1938 aboard the "De Grasse". He also went to the Second World War with the Armed Forces of United States.
