Harris, Ray was born on the 1st of October 1910 in Wiwonipey, Manitoba, Canada (probably in Russia). He was Russian American. He attended to the college for 2 years where he was working on a Bachelor of Sciences degree. He worked as nurse. He joined the Communist Party in January 1936. He was in the first group of the American Medical Bureau to sail for Europe. He sailed from the United States on the 16th of January 1937 and arrived in Spain on the 28th of January 1937. He served with the Republican Medical Services. He returned to the United States on the 31st of December 1938 aboard the "President Harding". He went to the Second World War where he served as a nurse in the shipyards. He died on the 5th of April 1998.
