History:

Gustave Sperber was born on April 18, 1912, in New York City. He worked as electrician, dental technician, and bookseller for the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA), after he became member in 1935. He arrived in Spain on February 24, 1937, and served with the 86th Brigade, in the 20th Battalion and in the Auto Park. He returned to the US on April 5, 1938 aboard the "Paris". He died on January 10, 2000.
