Isla Cristina (Huelva, España) 1896 - Baena (Córdoba, España) 1973
Spanish Academic of the Real Academia de Ciencias, Bellas Letras y Nobles Artes de Córdoba (Royal Academy of Sciences, Fine Arts and Noble Arts of Córdoba) and the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría de Sevilla (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel de Hungría of Seville). Son of the customs inspector José Ramos Oliva. He married Julia Eguilaz Santaella, born in Baena, and they had five children: Julia, María del Carmen, Joaquín, Consuelo and Teresa. A businessman, in the last years of his life, he was able to devote himself to his interest in art and culture, especially in his village, through the Sociedad de Amigos del Arte de Baena and the magazine "Tambor", which was devoted to local culture and which Antonio Ramos presided over. Since his arrival to Baena in 1920 he fought for the recovery of the Madre de Dios convent and for the restoration and declaration of the Santa María La Mayor church as Property of Cultural Interest, which he achieved.
For all these reasons, he was an adopted son of Baena and was awarded the city's Silver Medal. This medal was also awarded to him in Montilla for his contribution to the restoration of the house of Inca Garcilaso.
