History:

Spanish Law professor. He was the son of Isidro Castroviejo, forestry engineer, and Josefa Nobajas. He got married to one of the daughters of the known archaeologist Ricardo Blamco-Cicerón (1844-1926) and they were the parents of the writer José María Castroviejo Blanco-Cicerón (1913-1995).

He was awarded a degree on Law at the University of Granada in 1893. In 1895 he got his doctorate at the Universidad Central in Madrid with his thesis: “La legislación Social” [Social legislation]. This thesis was the beginning of a long path as an educator in Spain about the ideas of Giuseppe Toniolo (1845-1918), one of the parents of the “social Catholicism”. He also was a professor of Political Economy and Public Finances at the Universities of Seville and Santiago de Compostela
