Charles Barton was an American film director and actor.

He began his artistic career with small roles in Vodevil performances. He worked in several Hollywood units of B movies. Since 1946, he became the main director of comedies of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello like "The time of their lives" (1946) and "Africa screams" (1949). Later on, he worked for Disney in movies like "The Shaggy dog" (1959). He also worked as TV director in "The Amos 'n' Andy Show" in the CBS between 1950 and 1954, and the famous serie "Family affair" (1967-1971). Other of his popular movies/series were "Dennis the menace" (1960-1963) and "Africa screams".

He died in Burbank (California) the 5th December 1981 at the age of 69.
