History:

Spanish exiled doctor and historian who was born in Barcelona in 1904. His father emigrated to Argentina in 1919, where he died shortly after. Barón studied in the "Grupo Escolar Cervantes" school and finished in 1920. He passed the Civil Service examination of mailman, started studying medicine at the age of 21 and joined the Pediatric school of Madrid when he was 26 years old. He also passed the Civil Service examination of pediatrician and worked in Niños Jesús Hospital in Madrid. He met there his wife, Antonia Fernández García, which got married with in 1934. He was representative of the FUE and joined the Communist Party in 1935.

During the Spanish Civil War, he went to Valencia and worked as Chief of Children Hygiene Department of the Ministry of Health and served as volunteer in the Ebro army. At the end of 1938, he went to France and stayed in Le Boulou concentration camp, where he provided healthcare. He moved to Mexico in July 1939 and became Mexican citizen. Once there, he won a competition as school doctor for a professorship of the School Hygiene of the Luis Vives High School. However, he continued with his studies in the USA, England and Paris.

He wrote several books, which the most important one is "Pediatría Práctica". He returned to Spain in 1953 and settled in La Coruña, where he won the competition of "Académico Corresponsal" of the "Real Academia de Medicina" in Galicia. He moved to Valencia in 1963.
