History:

Spanish republican pilot who exiled in Mexico. He was born in Vallirana (Barcelona), son of the owner of a glass facroty. He made his higher secondary-education course in the "Maristas" of Barcelona, and later studied in the "Escuela Industrial" of Barcelona. In 1928, he started his training of airman, influenced by the Catalan pilot Canudas. He later became military pilot in the academies of Alcalá de Henares and Guadalajara. He started to work as pilot and was sent to Africa in 1930. Between 1932 and 1934, he was teacher in the Aviation School, and joined the Spanish Postal Airlines in 1936. During the Spanish Civil War, he was member of the Spanish Republican Air Force. He got married in 1938 and went to Toulouse with a group of the Spanish Postal Airlines when Barcelona fell. After travelling around France, he met his wife and took shelter in Montauban. In 1942, they went to Mexico on board "Nyassa" ship. They settled in Mexico City and began working in a glass factory. Later on, he founded his own factory along with an American colleague of him. Some time later, he founded another factory in Tlaquepaque (Jalisco) with his fater, who had come from Spain in 1946. Between 1946 and 1979, they created more similar factories in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Puebla. He had a son who was chemical engineer. During his stay in Mexico, he had no political activity, but he economically helped the refugees. He went back to Spain in 1960.
