Spanish judge that exiled in Mexico, son of Ricardo Mestre Beltrán and Francisca Ventura González, and married Silvia Mistral. He started his studies in the section for the less wealthy people of the "Escuelas Pías" (Escolapios). He was Secretary of the National Confederation of Labor (CNT), director of "La Estela", "Periódico de Cataluña" and "Solidaridad Obrera" newspapers, magistrate in Vilanova, and ran a newspapers stand. He was friend of José Buenaventura Durruti. He served in the Spanish Civil War as militiaman in the 133th Battalion. He first exiled in France and was sent to Argelès concentration camp. Afterwards, he went to Mexico on board "Ipanema" ship. Once there, he worked in "Editorial América" publishing house and founded the "Unión Distribuidora de Ediciones" and the "Editorial Minerva" publishing house
