History:

Spanish dressmaker that was exiled. She was born in San Julián de Loria (Andorra), in a humble family. Her father was smith and farmer. She spent her childhood in La Seu d'Urgel and then lived in a farm managed by her parents, close to Lérida. She studied in Sagrado Corazón school in Barcelona until she was 15 years old. She later trained as hairdresser and moved to Alfarrás (Lérida), opening a beauty parlor and a dressmaking business.

In 1935, she married Ramón Salés Teixidó, hairdresser, worker of a threads factory in Alfarrás and member of the Workers' Party of Marxist Unification (POUM). When the Spanish Civil War started, her husband was sent to the front in Huesca, and she voluntereed as nurse. As the rebel troops moved forward, she worked in hospitals close to the France border. In Olot (Girona), she managed to escape the hospital along with other two people, they passed the frontiers, avoided the concentration camps and arrived to Perpignan, where she could work thanks to her Andorran passport. She was able to free her husband from Barcarés concentration camp and spent three years in France. They went to Mexico in 1942 on board "Nyassa" ship

In Mexico City, she worked sewing in several workshops until she founded her own. She had a child there and her husband died. She married a Mexican man some years later and became Mexican citizen. She lived in Monterrey for 20 years and went back to Spain for a visit in 1976.
