History:

Spanish poet, journalist and diplomatic, exiled. Graduated in Law and Philosophy by the University of Barcelona. He was a playwright and a poetry, language and Catalan prose reformer. He run several magazines such as Catalunya and Empori.

In 1911 he was named member of the philological section of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (Institute of Catalan Studies). He wrote in the newspaper La Veu de Catalunya. In 1921 he enrolled the diplomatic career in which he occupied several positions in Genoa, San José de Costa Rica, The Hague, Hendaye, Beirut, Brussels and Paris. During the Civil War he was one of the few diplomats that stayed loyal to the Republic.

In 1939 he departed for Mexico, where he worked as a teacher of the Casa de España (House of Spain), and there he belonged to the Board of the CTARE, taking charge of the cultural affairs, such as the founding of the publishing company Séneca and carrying out the formalities of the secretaries of the Government and Foreign Affairs. Finally he ended up in Brussels, where he passed away in 1970.
