Aznar Aguirre, Esther de (1928-2008)

Exiled Spaniard. She went into exile to Mexico, then to Great Britain and then to Venezuela. Daughter of Santiago Aznar, general secretary of the General Union of Workers of Bizkaia, first Councilor of Industry of the Basque Government in 1936 and Councilor of the City Council of Bilbao, and Felicidad Aguirre Ormaechea.
During the Spanish Civil War, her and her sister Santiago Aznar Aguirre are evacuated aboard the La Habana for Southampton. He met with her family again in Penes D'Agënais, France, to go into exile to Mexico aboard the Nyassa, where they arrived on 22 May 1942. Soon after, they went to Great Britain, New York and finally Venezuela. There, she is appointed president of Emakume Abertzale Batza.
She was married to Joseba Solabarrieta, with whom she had three children: Miren, María Esther (former deputy of Environment and member of the Ondarroa management company) and Joseba. In 2003, she returned to Spain, settling in Ondarroa, where she would live until her death.
