John Brahm was a German film director that developed his career in the USA. With Hitler's accession to power, Brahm had to leave Germany and first moved to the UK. He worked there as film supervisor and directed in 1936 a remake of the movie "Broken Blossoms" by D. W. Griffith. In 1937, he moved to the USA and began his career in Hollywood. He worked for Columbia Pictures and 20th Century Fox. He stood out specially in fantasy films by creating strange atmospheres, and in more than 150 television series and films. During his last years as director, he filmed serie B movies. Among his most outstanding movies are "Hangover Square" (1945), "The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima" (1952) and "The Lodger" (1944).
