History:

Spanish screenwriter and director. Son of Eduardo Marquina and Mercedes Pichot. He was a close friend for Dalí, as his mother's familly was connected to Cadaqués. Dalí gave Marquina his paint "Muchacha en la ventana" for his wedding and he helped Dalí when he was studing in Madrid. He began his career in the film industry in 1935 with Don Quintín el amargao. He produced and directed films until his last movie in1973, Ay, Antonio, Antonio. Some of his most famous films are Tuset Street (1967), Such is Madrid (1953) and High Fashion (1954).
