History:

Charley Chase was an American film director and producer, actor and scriptwriter. Chase began his career in the cinematic world as an actor, appearing in films of Charles Chaplin and Mack Sennett. He left behind a long actor career, with almost 300 films. He started to work as a director in 1920, directing the film series "Our Gang", and kept on with his actor career. He was hired by Columbia Pictures, where he worked with Buster Keaton, Harry Langdon and The Three Stooges, to work as an actor and also as a director and producer. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Among his most well-known films are: "Sons of the Desert" (1933), "The Chases of Pimple Street" (1934), "On the Wrong Trek" (1936) and "Violent Is the Word for Curly" (1938).
