Spanish professor of Institute, librarian-archivist and cervantist.
Born in Oviedo en 1866. He studied Philosophy and Letters in Salamanca's University, licensing in 1891 and he obtained his doctorate in Madrid's University. He was a former civil servant of the Archivists and Librarians Body in the Libraries Section, and librarian-archivist in Oviedo. Later on, he was a teacher in Secondary Teaching. He went to several places, he was an assistant teacher in Oviedo's Institute, he appied for competitive examinations for professorships, and finally obtained the position of Geography and History Professor in Jaen's Institute in 1922. The Ministry of Public Instruction recognized his merits with the concession of the Civil Order of Alfonso XII in 1921.
In relation to his Cervantine bibliography, he published in 1905 a work titled Catecismo de Cervantes: 1605-1905 Tercer Centenario de la publicación de El Ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha, which he dedicated to Mariano de Cavia for his idea of celebrating the third century of El Quijote in 1905. This work was presented to the Public Instruction Council for its autorization as a text works valid for teaching. He retired in 1936 and passed away in his hometown in 1941.
