Spanish politician and organization technician. His family origins have a leftist ideology. His father was a member of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE/Spanish Socialist Worker's Party) and of the Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT/General Union of Workers) and his grandfather and his maternal uncles of Izquierda Republicana (Republican Left). Since 1937 he belonged to UGT and to the Juventudes Socialistas Unificadas (Unified Socialist Youth).

After the end of the war he was detained in the concentration camps of Santiago de Calatrava and Santiago de la Espada, and on 2 January 1942 he was transferred to Seville in order to do military service in Military Health. In 1943 he was transferred to the Campo de Gibraltar, to the Military Civic Hospital of Tarifa.

After graduating in 1945 he started working in the National Company Bazán, in San Fernando (Cádiz). At this time he was integrated into the clandestine trade union movement, forming part of the social sections of the aforementioned company (canteen, commissary, brotherhood of blood donors) and claiming improvements in collective agreements, first in the Unión Sindical Obrera (USO/Workers' Trade Union) and later in the UGT.

During the democratic transition he was delegated in the XXVII Congress of the PSOE and candidate in the general elections for the Constituent Cortes for Cadiz constituency, in which he was elected deputy. He was also councillor and deputy mayor of Chiclana de la Frontera Town Council (Cádiz).

He was a member of the Governing Board of the PSOE of Andalusia and the work council of the Bazán shipyards. Since 1976, he was part of the Trade Union Section of Bazán and in 1990 he was appointed member of the Executive of the Comarca del Litoral of UGT. He was also Secretary‑General of Retirees and Pensioners of the union.
