History:

Spanish industrial engineer. Professor at the National Institute of Public Administrations (INAP) in Madrid. Member of the Spanish Communist Party during Franco's dictatorship. In 1981, Triana left PCE to join PSOE, with which he was a deputy in 1982, 1986 and 1989. Triana resigned from his post in 1990 after being appointed general secretary of Industrial and Technological Promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, leaving this post as well in 1994.
