History:

He was a Scottish photographer.

There is evidence of his membership to the register of photographers of the Defense Committee of Madrid during the Spanish Civil War. In his file, dated February 22nd 1937, it is documented that he was a single 21 year-old man living in Calle Zurbarán, 11 in Madrid. He went to Spain during the Spanish Civil War in order to work as a photographer for the Scottish Ambulance Unit (SAU). When the Unit started to be used for rescuing the members of the Rebel faction from the Republican area, Linden decided to leave it together with other members such as Len Crome and Roderick MacFarquhar.
