Spanish politician and industrial engineer. He studied Industrial Engineering in Bilbao. Ajuriaguerra was member of the PNV (Basque Nationalist Party), concretely of the Bizkaia Buru Batzar, headed by him. During the Spanish Civil War, he was sentenced to death by Franco in 1937, being finally commuted to life sentence. In prison, Ajuriaguerra re-organized the PNV among other inmates, heading it clandestinely. In 1943 he was released in Canarias and confined to Pamplona. In the 50's Ajuriaguerra was exiled to France, where he represented the continuity of PNV during the Spanish dictatorship.
During the Spanish transition, Ajuriaguerra headed the Mixed Commission of Transfers of Competencies to the Basque Country Government. In the very first democratic elections, during the Constituent Legislature (1977-1979), he was elected deputy of PNV for Vizcaya. Ajuriaguerra dead on August 1978, being replaced by Jesús María Elorriaga at the Congress of Deputies.
