History:

Spanish politician and deputy. Consultant at Caja General de Ahorros, the General Savings Bank, and "Monte de Piedad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife", which was a financial institution from the Canary Islands. At the beginning of the Spanish transition to democracy, he was a member of Unión de Centro Democrático or UCD (Democratic Centre Union). In the Constituent Legislature (1977-1979) Acevedo was a deputy of UCD for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, becoming a member of the Mixed Parliamentary Group. Moreover, he belonged to Centro Democrático y Social or CDS (Democratic and Social Centre), which was a split from UCD founded by Adolfo Suárez in July 1982. Between 1983 and 1987, Acevedo represented UCD at the Canary Parliament.
