History:

Politician and civil servant of the Spanish State. He graduated in Law and he passed the public examination to enter in the Cuerpo Especial de Letrados Asesores (Special Body of Legal Advisers) of the Organización Sindical Española (Spanish Trade Union Organization). He promoted and created several worker cooperatives in the Bajo Guadalquivir region and he developed a social work of advising the most modest social strata. He began his political activity in 1976 as one of the youngest founding members of the Partido Social Liberal Andaluz (Andalusian Social Liberal Party), from which he was elected Secretary-General. He was the youngest Cordovan parliamentarian in the first two parliamentary terms of democracy as a member of Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD/Union of Democratic Centre), which come from Partido Social Liberal Andaluz, founded by Manuel Clavero. He was Health Counsellor in the first Andalusian pre‑autonomic government. At the beginning, when the UCD was dissolved he continued with Fernández Ordóñez and later with the CDS of Adolfo Suárez (Centro Democrático y Social). He was regional president of this political party and candidate for the presidency of Junta de Andalucía in the 1986 regional elections. After this period, he retired from the forefront of politics and he returned to his professional work.
