Spanish politician, lawyer and chronicler. He was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1928, and between 1945 and 1950 he graduated in Law from the University of La Laguna (Tenerife). Afterwards, he returned to Las Palmas and worked as a lawyer. He was an active participant in the social and cultural life of his native city, including the management of El Museo Canario, in which he held various positions, or the direction of the Real Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País (Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country) (1990-2000). Moreover, he formed part of various social institutions such as the Nautical Club, the British Club, the Initiatives and Tourism Centre or the University Foundation. His political activity led him to be a parliamentary deputy in 1977, where he intervened decisively to create the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (1989). In 1988 he was awarded the Medalla al Mérito Constitucional (Medal of Constitutional Merit).
