Spanish lawyer and politician.

Law degree from the University of Valencia, he settled in Germany in 1954, where he held various political and economic positions. In 1972 he was elected president of the Chamber of Commerce of Frankfurt, being closely linked to the Spanish consulate in this city. In 1974 he became part of the Federation of European Chambers and the German Liberal Party. In 1976 he joined the Federation of Liberal Democratic Parties, led by Joaquín Garrigues Walker and later integrated into Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD/Union of Democratic Centre). Thus, he became a bridge between European and Spanish liberalism during the Transition.

From UCD he was elected Deputy for Castellón of the Constituent Parliamentary term and of the I parliamentary term (1977‑1982).

He was president of the Council of the Valencian Country in the preautonomic period (1979‑1982). After the approval of the Statute of Autonomy he was interim president of the Generalitat Valenciana until the investidure of Joan Lerma.

Enrique Monsonís was MEP from the European Liberal, Democrat and Reform Party (2003‑2004).

Liberal convinced, after the disappearance of UCD in 1982, he returned to politics in the 2000s with Unión Valenciana.
