Spanish lawyer and politician.

Law degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela.

José María Pardo Montero was elected deputy in the Constituent Parliament of 1977 with Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD/Unionof Democratic Centre), and he was UCD senator in 1979, UCD deputy to the Parliament of Galicia in 1981 and deputy, again, in the III parliamentary term, in 1986 with Centro Democrático y Social (CDS/Democratic and Social Centre), as well as Minister for Regional Planning in the Galician regional government. Moreover, he was co‑founder of the Coalición Progresista Galega (Progressive Coalition of Galicia) representing the Partido Liberal (Liberal Party) (1987).

He left politics in order to work at Caixa Rural Galega, a banking institution of which he was later president.
